In 1528, after a gap of almost fifty years, the Torun mint reopens. The same year it begins minting a number of denominations, including trojaks.
These are issues for the Prussian lands, which from 1530, due to the unification of these coins with Crown issues, circulate throughout the Republic. And it is from this first vintage of Torun coins, used throughout Poland, that this coin comes.
Very rare both the vintage and the type of portrait - a large head of the king appearing only in 1530.
In the company's history to date, we have had this vintage of Torun trojaks only 3 times. This portrait type only 1 time, but in a different legend variety (with TOCIVS, instead of TOCI as here).
Most likely taken out of the binding.
