Lot description
Grade: XF-
Reference: Ivanauskas-Cesnulis 6SA27-8 (R), Kopicki 3297 (R5), Tyszkiewicz 12 mk
Collection: Zbiór Zbichorskich

A coin with virtually no signs of circulation, though shallowly struck and with internal sheet corrosion (sound preserved). Nice luster.

After 1555, the tenant of the mint, Felix, clearly reduces the issuance of pennies, almost extinguishing it, until 1559, when he receives permission to lower the monetary rate. With this issue, he ends the minting of pennies for the Lithuanian rate in Vilnius during the reign of Sigismund II Augustus.

Legendary variety: LIT / LITV.
