Lot description
Grade: XF
Reference: Ivanauskas 6SA4-4 (RRR), Kopicki 3290 (R8), Tyszkiewicz 75 mk

One of the rarest pennies of Sigismund II Augustus.

Vilnius penny for the Lithuanian foot 1545, that is, the coin initiating the minting of pennies in the time of this ruler. Minted a year before the start of minting pennies for the Polish foot at this mint.

A mintage unanimously rated by catalog makers at the highest degrees of rarity (R8), by Tyszkiewicz valued at 75 marks!

Type with small Columns under the Pogo, separating the date (here partially deficient), found only in this one, the first vintage.

Minting imperfections, but the coin is very nicely preserved. With mint luster. Given its rarity very attractive.
