Very rare, first dated half-penny of Sigismund Augustus.
The first vintage of the issue, known from two basic types, differing in the arrangement of the legends.
The present coin is clearly the rarer type for this vintage, distinguished by the king's titulature (SIGIS AVG REX...) placed next to the Eagle rather than the Pogo. This arrangement continued until the end of the minting of this denomination in Lithuania.
Legendary variety LIT / LITVA, with a punctuation under C in DVCAT.
Eagle and Pogo of late type.
An additional asset is the beauty of the present piece. Natural luster, nice patina, high quality minting.
