A beautiful piece of a rare variety of the last half-grosz of Vilnius Sigismund II.

The variety without the axe dividing the reverse legend, minted after Gabriel Tarla's death in 1565.

The rarity is well illustrated by Tyszkiewicz's price list (the variety with the axe valued at 0.3 mk, without it 8.00 mk).

Variant with date numerals narrowly spaced.
