A rare, final type of the “Pogoń” on the 1546 half-groschen coins, according to Ivanauskas’s study.
This is a distinctive type found only in this single year, characterized by both a broken shield and the absence of a spur—playfully referred to asthe “poor knight.”
Very nice condition, especially for this variety.
The rarity of this variety is well illustrated by our archive, where out of over 100 half-groszy coins from this year, only 2 featured this Pogoń (the last one in 2015).
