Lot description
Grade: VF
Reference: Dutkowski 159 (R1), Kopicki 774 (R2)

Krakow is the mint that minted pennies most intensively during the reign of Sigismund III. It began issuing them two years after most mints were closed, in 1603. In the first years, placing the letter C in the shield of the coat of arms on the pennies. A letter it placed until mid-1604. Continuous and intensive issuance was allowed by a new resolution in 1604, which reduced the silver sample of these coins, preventing its export abroad.

The second type of penny of this vintage (without the Levart coat of arms, with the letter C).

Rarer.
