Original 16th century ducat with traces of removal from the setting.

City ducat of Sigismund III minted at the Gdansk mint under the direction of Filip Klüwer (with his monogram over the shield).

Variety with obverse legend ending in PRVs. Reverse stamp not presented in the study of J. Dutkowski.

Rare.

Gold, diameter 22 mm, weight 3.44 g.

Obverse: royal bust in armor with mascaron, orifice and crown, to the right, in the rim legend:
SIGISMVND-III--D:G:REX-POL-D:PRVS

Reverse: coat of arms of Gdansk held by two lions, above monogram PK, in the rim legend:
(hand with sword) -MONE-NO-AVR-CIVI-GEDANENSIS-95-.
