A very attractive piece of a rare ducat of Sigismund III.
Coin with a beautiful natural luster preserved. Slightly bent, which is typical for gold of the period. With a doubled minting at POL ET SV.
Struck using a stamp with a corrected error (mistaken date of 1606 corrected on the stamp to 1610).
Very rare type with the initials of an unknown medallicist (FB), at the bottom of the cartouche with the city coat of arms.
Ducat minted under the management of Filip Klüwer, with his monogram on the reverse. Maintained in the style of previous issues: with a portrait in armor decorated with a lion's head and a wavy orifice. With a notation in the titulary referring to the Swedish throne ("ET SV" - "and [King] of Sweden"), changed only in this mintage, despite the dethronement of Sigismund III by the Riksdag on July 24, 1599.
Gold, diameter 22 mm, weight 3.51 g.
