In 1600, as the last of the crown mints, the mint in Krakow is opened, and it is the only one of them not affected by the closure order of 1601. It then becomes, for a long time, the main mint of the Republic.
It begins its issuance with trojaks. She uses a rolling mill to make them, from under which all her coins come out until 1606. The present piece is their first type - with the bust of the king facing left, and the mint's designation, the letter K, behind the date.
