In Olkusz, trojaks made on a rolling mill constitute only a negligible percentage of all trojaks beaten with stamps, using the traditional hammer method. They were made only during a short period in 1592-1593, which is well illustrated by the preponderance of varieties in Iger's catalog (only 3 out of more than 60), not to mention variants.
This was an issue from the period of administrator Kasper Rytkier, whose distinctive mark, the Axe, appears on the reverses of these coins.
In the second and last vintage, it is also accompanied by a royal apple, and on the other side of the coin a "jug."
A very rare item. Sheet flaws on the reverse, otherwise no comments, presentation good.
We had this vintage of the Olkusz Trojak from the rolling mill only 1 time, in 2018 at our 4th auction.
