A typologically sought after, very difficult to obtain Wschowa trojak.
A coin with spectacular mint errors - without date numerals, but with the coat of arms of the Grand Treasurer of the Crown placed twice.
The result of a bad stamp placement during the 1595 issue of trojaks: the obverse with the Levart under the king's bust, but without the marks and date in the titulature, and the reverse with the Levart between the mint marks, but also without the date placed.
For this type of portrait, Tadeusz Iger noted two variations of the reverse without a date: with a flower on a stem and with a large rosette, like the present piece. And although he annotated both with the same degree of rarity, the present notations do not confirm this. The variety with the large rosette is clearly rarer. In the archives of Polish companies, we find only two such triplets (a 2017 piece sold for 7200 zlotys and an uncirculated, circulated piece from 2024).
Very nice state of preservation. Well, evenly minted, glossy, with no unusual damage.
