A beautiful piece, where the quality of the minting of both its sides is particularly noteworthy.

A distinctive denarius of Boleslaw the Tall, the eldest son of Ladislaus the Exile, with a reverse alluding to his father's issue.

Struck in Wrocław, dated 1173-1190.

The obverse shows the letters VS, which was once interpreted as Sanctus Adalbertus, but nowadays, as Boris Paszkiewicz writes, "would be an abbreviation of the name Vladizlaus."

Variety with a cross of bullets in the field behind the figure of the knight.

Silver, diameter 15 mm, weight 0.33 g.
