The Glogau minting of Henry III (1273-1309) and his sons (1309-1316) focused on quarters. Many types were issued, most of which are very rare today. Here is one of them.
It's a type with keys on the obverse, which Edmund Kopicki described as unique (R*), referring to a collection in the Hermitage.
It has only appeared 2 times over the years. The last time reaching a price of 19,200 zlotys!
Its rarity is also confirmed by other studies of the subject. In the Frynas catalog it is described by the degree of extreme rarity, by Kalinowski illustrated only with an engraving.
An additional great advantage of the present piece is the preserved name of the principality - GLOGOVIE.
Obverse: two keys turned away from each other, joined at the bottom, with a row of pearls between. In the rim: h+ DVX + GLOGOVIE +.
Reverse: a six-pointed star, with pearls in the fields and center. In the rim crosses.
Silver, diameter 18.5 mm, weight 1.79 g.
