Unlisted at auctions in Poland, unknown in the literature numismatics.
A two-gallon coin from the municipal mint of Glogow of the time of Ferdinand II.
Depicting a four-field shield, known from the Glogow krajcars and three-field krajcars of 1622, above which is the numeral II - according to Professor Boris Paszkiewicz, with whom we conducted a preliminary consultation, referring to the denomination - dwuhalerz.
This is a denomination that was unlisted in the specialized literature. Both Polish (Kalinowski, among others) and foreign to Silesia (Friedensburg or F.u.S.).
As the professor adds: "... according to the custom of Silesian coins of the time, this "II" should stand for 2 haler. However, the silver color suggests a higher denomination, because 2-haler coins from the Kiper period are openly copper. It would therefore be a 2-fenig, or half-krajcar. But the 2-fenigs minted at the time are one-sided and have the obverse framed by a triple-circle - this is what they were recognized by in circulation, not the "II" numerals. So I suppose it is a two-galler, however, and the silver appearance may indicate its trial character."
