A rare high denomination of George Frederick's minting.
The minting of George Frederick in Karniów, despite its great variety and regularity (it minted denominations ranging from halerza to double-dollars and ducats for more than 40 years), is today among the very rare. Its issues are encountered in commerce sporadically, and some of the vintages practically not at all.
The type was minted in only two vintages (1560-1561) - distinguished by a small date on the sides of the half-stamp, with a mint mark (a heart in a circle) at the top of the obverse. This stamp is dated 1561.
The coin is original, but with a corrosive surface, washed, with scratches, in a dark patina.
First time in our offer.
