Mint ducat of the most popular branch of Silesian minting - the reign of three brothers.
The period of the co-regency of George III, Louis IV and Krystian.
An early, third vintage of their issue. Minted with this one pair of stamps.
Characteristic here is the fact that only one of the brothers holds the mace. As Marcin Grandowski, the author of a monograph on their minting, points out, this could indicate that the coin was minted shortly after Rudolph's death and before the division of the Duchy.
A rare and beautifully preserved numismatic coin.
Obverse: three half figures of princes in armor above the ornament. In the rim:
D G GEORGIVS LUDOVI & CHRISTI FRATR (apple).
Reverse: four-field shield of coat of arms. In the rim, an inscription separated by a star and a mint mark sece pierced with hooks (by Christian Pfahler):
DUCES SILESIÆ LI-GNI & BREGEN 1653
