An impressive high denomination of the Three Brothers mint.
A nicely presented, large coin. Light graffiti over the heads and skillful chiseling in the background of both sides, absent from the rim. Edge slightly corrected. Good detail. The patina of an old collection.
A prized numismatic coin, the thaler of the joint reign of George, Ludwig and Krystian is an occasional coin that appears in commerce and is highly valued by collectors. Regardless of the vintage.
The present one is distinguished by the type of representation of the brothers. Occurring only on a portion of the thalers of this one year. Introduced in 1656 and later that year changed to half-stamps much less distinguished (we had a thaler of the second type at auction 18, item 3227). Struck with only this one obverse stamp.
Very rare.
First time in our offer.
