A very nice coin, with a mint luster background.

In 1581, due to threats from Moscow, the city of Riga surrendered to the Republic. And it was from that year that it began minting coins under the name of the Polish king - then Stefan Batory.

A variant with a royal portrait with a small epaulet.

Variant with a broad letter N (typically made in mirror image for this vintage).
