Lot description
Grade: VF+
Reference: Paszkiewicz T.5.2, Kopicki 8995 (R1)

A brakteat that is a successor to the arcaded type, referring to it by its iconography. For many years and many researchers, despite the all-Christian motif, it was not recognized as a monastic issue. Only the analysis of technique, workshop, made by B. Paszkiewicz allowed to place this coin in the years 1277-1288.

Type: a Latin cross standing on an oval arcade, between two spheres, with a six-pointed star under the arc.

Crumbling of the disc, nicely preserved representation.

Silver, diameter 16 mm, weight 0.16 g.
