Lot description
Grade: VF/VF+
Reference: Paszkiewicz T.21

The latest type of brakteats with a Greek cross, dated by Paszkiewicz to the period when the Order agreed to be a fief of Poland (but refused to pay tribute from 1501).

As we can read in "Brakteats - the money of medieval Prussia": unlike all other 15th-century brakteats with such a mark, it is distinguished both by the easily recognizable form of the cross and the overall cut of the coin, which is of thin, brittle sheet metal.

Presumably minted until the death of Master Frederick in 1510.

Rarer coin.

Silver, diameter 13 mm, weight 0.19 g.
