The rarest two-zloty coin of the Second Republic in a very nice state of preservation.
There is rubbing, but not severe. Preserved with natural luster, satin surface texture and light natural patina. A very nice coin.
The so-called "letter H", or two-zloty coin of 1924 minted at the Birmingham mint. It is called so because of the mint mark, characteristic of this establishment, placed after the date.
Its rarity is due to the Treasury's dissatisfaction with the quality of the coins delivered by this mint. The original contract was for 6 million pieces. After part of the first batch was put into circulation, it turned out that many of the coins had defects. As Jerzy Chalupski points out: it was ordered that the erroneously minted coins be withdrawn from circulation, while the next batches (nearly 5 million pieces!) were cancelled.
