Struck in bronze (or copper). Possibly a later print, but undoubtedly from the original stamps. Stamps without corrosion or other signs of ageing or refreshing. Struck together with the correct inscription on the rim, from the ring. Washed and cleaned, with uneven discoloration of fresh patina as a result.
The medal commemorates the election of Augustus II the Strong as king of Poland.
It depicts him as the "Hercules of Saxony" as he strides toward the Polish crown with a whipped hydra at his feet.
Signed G.H. (Georg Hautsch) on the shoulder.
Bronze, diameter 42.5 mm, weight 25.85 g.
