Very rare, original 18th century medal.
Excellent in presentation. No upholstery or mechanical damage, only gently rubbed in the background. Relief fully minted. A beautiful item.
The medal was minted to commemorate Novaya Serbia - a province of the Russian Empire created on the right bank of Ukraine. For its protection, the fortress of St. Elizabeth was built there (in honor of its founder - Elizabeth Romanova).

Reverse: Minerva standing left, leaning on a shield with a double-headed eagle, holding a spear and pointing to a pedestal with the coat of arms of New Serbia, surmounted by a Russian eagle; in the segment the date MDCCLIV, in the rim the legend NOVA SERBIA CONSTITVTA.
