One of the numerous medals commemorating the wedding of King Louis XV of France to the Polish royal, Maria Karolina Leszczynska.

Rare type by the Vestners - Nuremberg medalists Georg Wilhelm (signed V on the obverse) and his son Andreas Vestner (brother of the court medalist of August II the Strong - Christian Friedrich).

Depicting a couple in love in a chariot led by swans, with cupids hovering above and the maxim:
CONVENIVNT ET IN VNA SEDE MORANTVR MAIESTAS ET AMOR.
