Grade: UNC/AU

L. Carnot (1753-1823) - a figure of the French Revolution and Napoleonic Era. He was a military engineer, mathematician and politician.

Obverse: L. Carnot at a desk on which a map is spread out. In his hand he holds a plan of fortifications.

Reverse: Standing goddess of the First Republic and Winged Genius forging on an anvil.

Signed on both sides E. MOUCHON.

Undated, minted in 1899.

Silver, large and very impressive.

Rare. Only one listing of silver in CoinArchives, in 2014 Stack's Bowers 182/2127 where also a reference to its great rarity.

Beautifully preserved.

Silver, diameter 68 mm, weight 165.94 g.
