A beautifully preserved piece, especially for a medal of this size from the mid-19th century.
The medal was commissioned by the Galician Economic Society to commemorate Jędrzej Zamojski ("for his first trip up the Vistula River Dunajec and San").
In the section on the reverse the inscription PRZEMYŚL D. 23-O OCT. MDCCCL.
