Incredibly impressive item, as evidenced by its size and weight (almost half a kilogram of silver).
It is an old, judging by the style still 19th century, cast from a medal made by the most famous Polish forger - Jozef Majnert.
The composition is fanciful, having no original counterpart in the time of Jan II Casimir.
Majnert used the bust from Emperor Leopold's medal, adding a mustache and Polish titulature. A fanciful legend was added to the reverse, with an error, since the Swedish Deluge did not begin until a year later.
The Majnert original is very rare today, and is in the collection of the National Museum in Warsaw.
Well cast in silver, chiseled, background with traces of chiseling, otherwise unremarkable condition.
Silver, diameter 84-86 mm, weight 411 g.
