Commemorating the wedding of King Ladislaus IV to Archduchess Cecilia Renata of Austria.
Obverse: King and Queen at table shaking hands. Inscription in the rim: VLADISLAUS IV POL[oniae] SVEC.Q.[Sueciaeque] REX ET CAECILIA RENATA ARCHIDUX AUSTR[iae] SPONSI AUGUSTISSIMI, that is: Ladislaus IV the Polish and Swedish King and Cecilia Renata the Austrian Archduke the bride and groom. While the second line around: HUNC GENUIT BOREAS HAEC NOMEN DUCIT AB AUSTRO REGIBUS HIS MUNDI PLAUDIT UTRUMQ[ue] LATUS, viz: This one in the north born, this one from the south; from both sides of the world adore them. At the top of the medal are angels.
The reverse side. Mars and Pallas hold a crown over burning hearts; on one side is the Polish coat of arms, on the other the Austrian coat of arms; all around in two lines the inscription: ASPICE QUAM FAUSTO COEANT IN FOEDERA NEXU SARMATA LIBERTAS AUSTRIACUM IMPERIUM DI RERUM DOMINI FACIANT PLACIDEQUE DIUQUE GAUDEAT UT TANTIS ISTUD ET ILLA BONIS, that is: See how the freedom of the Sarmatians and the former glory of the Austrians are united in friendship. Heaven grant that in long days both may abound in gifts.
