Medal by Holzhaeusser, commissioned by the King, to commemorate the passing of the 1776 law by the Sejm prohibiting torture in courts and abolishing the death penalty in witchcraft cases.

A later, 19th-century print, from the original stamps, now slightly corroded.

Rare and in beautiful state of preservation.

Bronze, diameter 40 mm, weight 39.8 g.
