A very rare medal commemorating one of the victories of the commander-in-chief in the war against Turkey, and privately a favorite of Catherine II - Grigory Potemkin.

Commemorating the capture of Oczakow. With the maxim Hoc duce nil arduum - with such a leader nothing is difficult.

Medal by J. Abraham (signature I.A.).

Original 18th century minting in silver.

Nice state of preservation. Lots of mirror.

Silver, diameter 42 mm, weight 28.95 g.
