An extremely interesting piece of World War II history in occupied Warsaw. Kurjer (Kurier) Warszawski was a periodical whose origins date back to the Kingdom of Poland. The first issue appeared on January 1, 1821 and subsequent issues were published until October 9, 1939. Then the German authorities on October 11, 1939, relaunched the magazine under the name Nowy Kurjer Warszawski. It took on the colloquial name of the gaga press, or gadzinowka. It served to propagate German, and later Soviet, victories. They were intended to shape the occupier's desired mindset of the population in the occupied territories by appropriately interpreting political and military events and highlighting the power of the occupying states.
Here the Extraordinary Supplement has been characterized to look like the occupation press, but the content itself is completely different. It gives real information about German problems that were scrupulously concealed from the public.
