An impressive mint destruct.
A coin without the obverse (the side with the emblem of the Republic), but only with the reverse and its concave negative print on the other side.
This is a minting error created by putting a new disc on a struck but unstamped coin and stamping it again. It is aptly called a "brakteat" minting because of its one-sided nature. Referred to as "brockage" by American numismatists.
Here it is additionally strikingly bounced, with a pronounced wrapping of the metal on the sides of the "negative side".
Very rare, especially in mint condition like this one.
For this denomination we have it for the first time ever.
