A very rare numismatic coin once believed to be an issue of Prince Boguslaw of the Gryfit dynasty, from the mint in Slawno. As Borys Paszkiewicz points out in"Pomeranian Minting in the Middle Ages," it was erroneously attributed to the non-existent Duchy of Slawno. It is now recognized as an issue of Prince Boguslaw I (1136-1187) from the period of his independent reign, from the mint in Szczecin or Kamień.
It is a numismatic coin found at auction occasionally, in addition to its rarer variety. It is distinguished by a figure with hair built of lines (instead of bullets) and an obverse inscription without Boguslaw's name.
The coin cracked, skillfully joined with glue. With very nice detail, especially of the obverse inscription.
Obverse: male bust with beard, wearing a robe, in front, with raised hands, above them bullets. In the rim an inscription.
Reverse: a three-towered building, on an arch, with an additional tower below it. In the rim an inscription.
Silver, diameter 17 mm, weight 0.53 g.
