Representative of type II of the Danzig orts, from the short issue of 1615-16. A compositionally beautiful design by Samuel Ammon - with a new type of portrait (with a wide orifice) and a new reverse (with an oval shield of the coat of arms).
Very nicely preserved. Natural, mint luster. Intense on the obverse, slightly subdued on the reverse.
Attractive, especially for this hard-to-find type in nice condition.
Additionally, being a rare variety (with a three-armed ornament in front of SIGIS), which the authors of the Catalogue of Danzig Orts illustrated with this piece.
