A rare, last vintage of the early Lithuanian shekels of Sigismund III.
Issued minted using the traditional stamp method, which, by virtue of being a better coin (containing more silver) than the 1614-1627 shekels, were naturally pushed out of circulation and are today noticeably rarer than the later ones.
In 1590, the Chalecki coat of arms of the current treasurer, Dmitry, appears on Lithuanian shekels, which is placed on them continuously until 1592.
A variety with the denomination notation SOLIDVS.
Very nice.
