Issue from the first period of operation of the Cracow mint during the reign of Sigismund III Vasa.
In 1600, as the last of the crown mints, the mint in Cracow is opened and it is the only one of them not affected by the closure order of 1601. It then becomes, for a long time, the main mint of the Republic.
It begins its issuance with trojaks. She uses a rolling mill to make them, from under which all her coins come out until 1606. The present piece is their first type, minted for only two years. With the bust of the king facing left, and the mint's designation, the letter K, placed after the date.
