A beautiful sculpture by a famous French artist from the turn of the 20th century.
The author is Louis Chalon (1866-1940), a French painter, illustrator, goldsmith and sculptor.
The artist's sculptures are prized around the world, as evidenced by the French auction house Leclere's estimates of 6 to 8 thousand euros.
The large, striking sculpture depicts a nude woman with the appearance of a mysterious fairy, standing in open flower. She is depicted with her eyes closed, and her posture indicates a blissful state of ecstasy. She wears an orchid flower as her crown.
Made with casting technique, placed on an agate pedestal.
At the base the signature of the artist "+Chalon" and the name of the foundry "Louchet".
Very good state of preservation and reception of the sculpture, only missing one petal and unprofessional conservation of the left wing (screwed with a screw). Covered with a nice chocolate patina.
Rarity.
Pedestal dimensions: 17.5 x 17 cm.
Height: 63.5 cm.
