The 10 groszy copper coin was a denomination introduced by the Universal Edict of March 15, 1787, to replace the half-złoty coins that were being exported abroad on a massive scale. It is the first circulating coin of Stanisław August on which the inscriptions on the obverse were made in Polish.
A variant without a period after the date.
