Roman Marian Kamaszewski a.k.a. "Waldemar", "Rek" "Kowalski" born November 7, 1915 in Garwolin. First a soldier of the National Armed Forces, "Sikorski" Regiment. Then transferred to the 3rd Armored Battalion "Golski". He fought in Srodmiescie South during the Warsaw Uprising. He survived the uprising and was sent to the prisoner of war camp Stalag XB Sandbostel. After the war, he served in the 315th Civilian Transport Group of the Mixed Labor Organization (Guard Companies), then emigrated to Australia, Adelaide, where he died in 2016.
