A coin that is practically uncirculated, with a natural mint luster in the background, but struck with a die showing a "ghost" image of the wreath from the reverse (the result of dies colliding without a blank) and signs of long-term storage.
These marks indicate a so-called “Efraimka,” that is, an issue related to the war between Prussia and Saxony under Augustus III of Saxony. After taking over the mints, the Prussians continued their operations, using the hallmarks and dies left behind in the workshops.
A variant lacking the letters E-C (the initials of Ernest Dietrich Croll) on the sides of the twigs, with the denomination marked as 8 GR (printed letters).
The royal bust is massive, with an oval brooch fastening the cloak.
