This is one of the few rarities among all ducats of the Holland province minted after 1722. A very rare variety of the 1769 ducat with a dot in the date. An article by L.M.J. Boegheim entitled Een gouden dukaat uit 176.9! (176.9 gold ducat!), published in the Netherlands numismatic journal De Beeldenaar No. 2000–5, p. 227, is devoted to the discovery of this variety.
