The first 20-złoty notes of the Second Polish Republic, featuring a distinctive design with a portrait of Tadeusz Kościuszko, are typologically rare and highly sought after by collectors.
They were issued in two series: the first bearing the date the złoty was established as the national currency (February 28, 1919), and the second dated July 15, 1924.
The second issue was produced in three series, and this specimen is a very rare variant of it.
Series II EM B is the only one among all the series of this issue to use a different numerator typeface and font style. Printed on French-made (ribbed) paper
The rarity of this variety is also confirmed by Michał Biskup’s analysis (Issue III), which indicates that Series B had the lowest print run.
