A very attractive Kraków six-grosz coin minted during the Swedish occupation of the city.
According to Łukasz Ciura, this is a very rare combination of dies by two engravers. The reverse was engraved by an engraver who had previously worked in Kraków (though his style can also be found on coins from Wschowa), featuring a characteristic date overprint. The obverse, on the other hand, is a new design with smaller lettering and a title beginning with “IO CASI.”
Listed in his catalog with a rarity grade of R3, which corresponds to grades R4/R5 on the Czapski scale.
Very nice condition. A well-defined obverse. The surface luster is preserved.
The coin comes from an outstanding contemporary collection at Zbiór.com and is featured on its website.
