A rare, early type of Kazimierz quarter.
Distinguished by a small figure of the king enclosed within an inner border (with a short, undivided border around the scepter), and the royal orb held in an outstretched hand rather than against the chest. With trefoils on either side.
According to a study by Marek Poznański (published in WPN), this is a late variant of Type III—with the characteristic spelling of the king’s name:KAZIMIRI(with a horizontal bar in the “Z”).
Obverse: a crowned figure seated on a throne, holding an orb and a scepter, flanked by petals. In the rim: [+ MONE]TA : KAZIMIRI.
Reverse: an eagle with outstretched wings, facing left. In the rim: REGIS : POLONIE [ K ]+.
