The first issue of the so-called "light thalers."
A popular issue, marking the major changes in Polish coinage that took place during the Kościuszko Uprising. At that time, new denominations were introduced (including one-and-a-half and triple ducats, as well as the “cześciogroszówki,” which replaced the copper trojaks), and the value of the talars was significantly reduced. Replacing the eight-złoty thalers with new, smaller, six-złoty thalers.
A variant featuring an oak leaf touching the coat-of-arms shield and a colon after “POLON.”
Rare.
Silver, diameter 38 mm, weight 23.64 g.
