A rare mint-struck półtorak with a nice patina.
The first type of Polish półtorak—featuring an eagle on the obverse instead of a coat-of-arms shield.
This is a distinctive and highly prized collector’s issue, which was replaced later that same year by one-and-a-half-thaler coins featuring a crowned, five-field coat-of-arms—an iconography that would dominate this denomination for years to come.
A variant with the denomination on the obverse shield specified in half-groszy (3), instead of the thaler fraction (Z4).
The reverse legend ends with “REG POL.”
The coin comes from an outstanding contemporary collection at Zbiór.com, as illustrated on its website.
