A rare Courland grosz, whose provenance is a major asset—this coin comes from the collection of Henry Karolkiewicz.
A variant featuring oval shields.
Beneath them are the letters C-H-S—the initials of the manager of the Mitava mint.
This piece has been previously cleaned but still retains nice detail.
Comes with the original auction slip.
