A beautiful, cabinet-quality, natural piece. With patina and a mint-like luster on the surface.
This is a Saxon thaler of the Polish king—August II the Strong. Typical of these issues, it was struck on larger, wider blanks than the thalers minted for Poland.
Minted at the Dresden Mint, bearing the characteristic initials of Master of the Mint Johann Lorenz Holland (I.L.H.) and the mint mark—a hook (located before the date).
A youthful bust of the king.
Silver, diameter 46 mm, weight 29.08 g.
