A very rare coin that is essential for typological studies.
A type featuring the distinctive Glaubicz coat of arms (a fish) beneath the king’s bust, which appeared for only half a year in the entire history of Polish coinage. This is the coat of arms of Jakub Rokossowski, who was appointed Grand Treasurer of the Crown on January 5, 1580, and served in that capacity until his death (July 13 of that year).
This specimen is a variant distinguished by the Glaubicz coat of arms in the shield!
The king’s bust features a large head. The reverse lacks the denomination figures and the Batory family coat of arms.
The rarity of this variant is evidenced by the fact that it is appearing in our inventory for only the second time (the last time was in February 2021!).
